Get Details on Ryan Gosling’s Directorial Debut, ‘How to Catch a Monster”
Honestly, we didn’t think Ryan Gosling could get any better. He’s a brilliant actor, totally dreamy, and has the best abs in Hollywood. So, our hearts skipped a beat when we learned that Ryan is super smart and creative as well and will be directing his first movie, How to Catch a Monster. And we have feeling we’re gonna love it just as much as we love Drive, Crazy, Stupid, Love, and of course, every gal’s fave, The Notebook!
The film is based on the screenplay he already wrote, and the story sounds awesome — it’s about a single mom (played by Mad Men’s Christina Hendricks) whose two sons find this secret road that goes to an underwater town. People are describing it as a modern fairytale that’s also sorta dark.
It definitely makes sense that Ryan would want to direct. He told MTV News that he worked on movie The Ides of March to observe how George Clooney directed. He said at the time, “I’d like to do that. That was one of the reasons I wanted to work with George, was to see how that’s done.”
Ryan hasn’t yet announced whether he’ll act in the film, but a girl can dream, right? The only bummer? The movie doesn’t even start shooting until spring 2013, which means we have to wait a super long time for it to hit theaters. We’re hoping that as soon as Ryan shows up on set the photogs release tons of pics showing him behind the camera…
