Ross Butler Among Group Being Sued for Allegedly Conspiring to Kill Man
What do Ross Butler and Kurt Cobain have in common? Not too much, except that the 13 Reasons Why actor was allegedly part of a group trying to kill his ex-son-in-law.
Frances Bean Cobain‘s ex-husband, Isaiah Silva, is suing his ex-mother-in-law, Courtney Love, her manager Sam Lutfi, musician Michael Schenk, private investigator John Nazarian and the 13RW star for conspiring to kill him in hopes of stealing the deceased rocker’s guitar, according to PEOPLE.
According to the suit, Ross and two other men “entered into a criminal conspiracy to commit trespass, burglary, home invasion robbery, assault, battery, kidnapping, and murder.”
They also allegedly planned to kidnap him from his home in order to “end any potential legal claims [he] may have to the Curson property, the Willoughby Trust and any spousal support.”
TMZ reports that Silva claims the men entered his house after pounding on the door and yelling, “Police, open up!!!” and “LAPD, open the f*cking door!!!”
The group was allegedly after the 1959 Martin guitar that Kurt played during Nirvana‘s MTV Unplugged performance in 1993, one year before he committed suicide. Silva got to keep the instrument as part of his divorce settlement with Frances.
The legal docs claim, according to Us Weekly, “The primary objective of their conspiracy was to locate and take possession of a guitar believed to be worth millions of dollars, which was gifted to Silva, by [Frances], on January 8, 2014, six months prior to their June 29, 2014 marriage.”
So far, John Nazarian is the only one who has responded to the allegations, telling TMZ that he was nowhere near Silva’s house at the time of the alleged incident.
