‘PLL’ Recap: Which Girl Had it the Hardest on Last Night’s Ep?
We’ve had one whole week to get used to the fact that Wilden’s dead; one whole week to accept that Mona’s kinda-sorta on Team Good (for now); one whole week to digest that Pretty Little Liars is definitely back! After the season premiere, we were left with more questions than when it began. Even with the latest episode, “Turn of the Shoe,” airing last night, that statement still holds true. Check out the biggest events from the show, then tell us which of the Little Liars you think had it worst in the comments!
1. What happens with Emily? We’ve seen in clips that Emily’s planning on attending Stanford on scholarship with Paige. (They’re actually considering living together!) Paige already got accepted to the swim team, so all Emily has to do is kill it at her next meet in the hopes that the Stanford scout picks her for the final slot. However, Shawna’s also gunning for it. So after Emily saves Mona from being run over by a masked ‘A’ with her own car, Em hits her shoulder against a rock and bruises it. Bad. Before the big meet, Emily takes more than a fair share of painkillers — before and after talking to Shawna. Hmm… This leads to a dizzy spell, and Emily bangs her head against the side of the pool.
2. What happens with Aria? After breaking things off with Ezra — excuse us while we go cry about it again — and experiencing Mona’s aforementioned car attack, Aria seeks help from a (hot!) martial arts instructor named Jake. After all, she is a petite girl a.k.a. an easy target. But at the end of her session, she kisses the instructor! Of course he’s totally okay with it, and asks her out for coffee. She almost says no, but then agrees. Which makes sense because, come on now, look at that face.
3. What happens with Hanna? Seems like Mama Marin’s tying up all those loose ends. It wasn’t too long ago when Ashley hit Officer Wilden with her car. However, as we all know, he lived to see another day… But not too much later, he met his fate. The only other footprints let in the mud at his crime scene turned out to be a set of heel marks. Coincidentally (or not so much), Ashley’s silk Manolos were ruined by dried up mud. Does this mean we already know Wilden’s killer?
4. What’s happens with Spencer? It’s the worst thing that could ever possibly happen to the most intelligent of the Little Liars: She doesn’t get into the University of Pennsylvania! And after she talks to Ezra about her college essay, we learn why. The document was all about how her best friend was murdered and how she overcame living in an asylum. Erh, as much as it’s all wonderful that she powered through, not all educational institutions want that kind of emotional baggage populating its environment. On top of that, she learns that Toby’s mom may not have committed suicide, and may have been killed instead.
And what it up with this parrot? It lived with Ali in Georgia, so the girls believe that it’ll spill her dirty little secrets. But by episode’s end, the squawker’s kidnapped by none other than ‘A’ his-/herself. Think we’ll see the bird again?
