‘PLL’ Recap: Is Spencer Really Going Crazy?
To beg the question “Which girl had it hardest?” on Pretty Little Liars would be silly on our part because, if you saw the episode, you’d know that the answer is Spencer all the way. So, we’d rather discuss what each girl went through throughout the “Will the Circle Be Unbroken?” show, as per youge, then you tell us if you really think Spencer’s going delusional, or if this is part of a larger plot, in the comments.
1. What happens with Emily? Well, uhh… she meets Missy Franklin — ya know, the 2012 Olympic gold medal-winning swimmer — courtesy of Shana, Paige’s ex-girlfriend. Pretty nice for a girl who didn’t seem to care too much for Emily in the past, but whatever. Is there something more to the story, or was that just a not-so-subtle way of getting Missy on the show?
2. What happens with Hanna? Wilden’s alive and well. Yay. The downside (as if the fact that he’s alive wasn’t enough of one): Hanna and Aria dumped his car in the lake. So when Ashley leaves for a seminar in New York, and Wilden asks Hanna for his vehicle, she can do nothing but stare at him like he has a hole in his head. Guess “A” really was the one that planted it in her garage…
3. What happens with Aria? Now that Ezra has a new family to support, and still doesn’t have a job besides ghost-writing and tutoring, Aria feels it’s her duty to help him considering she’s the reason he was fired from his teaching position in the first place. So she inquires with dear ol’ daddy Byron, who actually agrees to assist Ezra, though his intentions aren’t exactly pure. He feels that if he assists Ezra, maybe his relationship with his ex and son will grow, and his and Aria’s will end. By ep’s end, Aria’s principal calls her in and asks if she and Mr. Fitz have something going on between them, because they may hire him back. Being the good girlfriend she is, she denies ever having anything romantic with him.
4. What happens with Spencer? Oh boy. To break it down for you quickly, she tells Dr. Sullivan that she saw Toby’s dead body in the woods, which is how she ended up in Radley. Her nurse’s name is E. Lamb, the same name on the badge Toby used to get into Radley when Mona was a patient. Melissa visits, but who cares? E. Lamb tells Spencer that she’s staying in Mona’s old room. Mona comes to visit Spencer, which only adds fuel to the fire. During group therapy, Spencer envisions her friends instead of Dr. Sullivan and the other patients, leading the audience to believe that she’s fallen off the deep end. Yep, that about sums everything up.
