12 Characters You Completely Forgot Were Recast on Pretty Little Liars
TV shows don’t always get their castings right on the first try. On Arrested Development, the character of Ann Veal was originally portrayed by an actress named Alessandra Torresani, but was eventually changed to Mae Whitman; Cory’s little sister on Boy Meets World went from a cutie named Lily Nicksay to Lindsay Ridgeway; prior to Shailene Woodley‘s skyrocket to fame, she was replaced by Willa Holland, who was more well-known at the time, as Kaitlin Cooper on The O.C.. Etc. Etc. Etc.
As you can see, TV characters are replaced on your favorite shows more often than you may’ve realized. The biggest case in point to date: the characters on Pretty Little Liars. From the very beginning — like, even before the pilot aired — the TV series’ creators have been swapping out actors. The guy who OG played Toby? Gone. Alison’s entire OG family? Switched. Spencer’s OG parents? BYE. What occurred in each situation, we can’t say for sure. Nevertheless, we wanted to remind you of it all:
Keegan Allen's been a part of PLL ever since the ABC Family-turned-Freeform series' third episode. BUT, when the drama first aired on June 8, 2010, an actor by the name of James Neate walked alongside Tammin Sursok's character, Jenna Marshall, at ~Alison's~ funeral on the pilot ep.
