Police Thwart Plan to Rob Demi Lovato’s House While She’s in Rehab
Demi Lovato is currently living in a rehab center where she has been undergoing treatment following a relapse that led to a drug overdose last month. The 26-year-old all but announced that she would be checking into to a treatment facility after being released from the hospital, and people used that knowledge to plan a robbery.
According to TMZ, a group of people was arrested shortly after the “Sober” singer was discharged from the hospital with plans to break in and rob her Los Angeles home. Police discovered “electronic communications” between the perpetrators and quickly made the arrests. More officers were also assigned to patrol the outside of her house while she is away.
Demi’s $8.3 million Hollywood Hills mansion was just one of the targets on the robbers’ list. They reportedly planned to hit a number of homes, both celebrity and non-celebrity owned.
There’s no word on how long D.Lo plans to stay in rehab, but she did cancel her entire fall 2018 tour, which seemingly proves it will be a lengthy stint. Earlier this month, the singer briefly left the facility to fly to Chicago with her mom, Dianna De La Garza, in order to seek help from a psychiatrist who specializes in mental health, sobriety and overall wellness. The trip was, according to TMZ, “organized by doctors and designed to make her sober and healthy.”
DL’s only concern at the moment should be getting better and striving for sobriety once again, not if robbers are planning on breaking into her home while she is away.
