Pete Davidson Joked About Ariana Split Days Before Ending Engagement
Pete Davidson is a comedian, which means he makes jokes even at inappropriate times. While the 24-year-old has yet to speak out about calling off his engagement with Ari, he DID joke about a possible breakup just two weeks before news broke.
During the September 29 episode of Saturday Night Live, Pete joined cast member Colin Jost on Weekend Update and jokingly addressed the possibility of a split.
He said, “You know, I don’t even get royalties for that ‘Pete Davidson‘ song? Like, if we break up, and we won’t — we will — but we won’t. I’m kidding. But like in 10 years, if God forbid that ever happened, there will be a song called ‘Pete Davidson’ playing in speakers at Kmart and I’ll be working there.”

The comment about the breakup happened just after he joked about switching Ari’s birth control with Tic Tacs, which resulted in tons of backlash.
TMZ first reported the news of Pariana’s split, which allegedly happened over the weekend. Apparently, Mac Miller‘s death was the tipping point in the relationship’s demise and the “Breathin” crooner realized she “couldn’t be fully invested in her relationship with Pete and she had rushed into a looming marriage way too fast by getting engaged.”
While the wedding is off for now, a source tells Us Weekly that the celebs are “working things out.”
“They’re not officially done yet,” the insider explains.
