Fans Outraged After Pete Davidson Jokes About Switching Ariana’s Birth Control
Saturday Night Live is no stranger to controversy, and this season’s premiere was no different. It pretty much focused on two things: the Brett Kavanaugh hearing and Pete Davidson‘s engagement to Ariana Grande. The cast member appeared on this week’s “Weekend Update” skit, and things took a dark turn when he mentioned toying with his fiancée’s birth control, just so she’d have a reason to stay with him.
“Last night I switched her birth control with Tic Tacs,” he said. “I believe in us and all, but I just want to make sure that she can’t go anywhere.”
We are used to the celeb cracking jokes about how the pop star is too good for him, but we think this was a little much. Many people argued that now is not the time for such jokes; others claim that this a form of abuse. Needless to say, fans and viewers were not pleased.
Apparently Pete Davidson thinks it’s ok to make jokes about switching Ariana’s birth control with tic-tacs?? Really? At this stage in the game this dude can no longer call these jokes.

Generally I thought Pete Davidson was funny, but until birth control sabotage stops being a common form of abuse and a way abusers trap women in dangergous relationships, I'm not going to laugh at that joke #SNLPremiere

We are usually calling this relationship #GOALS, but this joke had us facepalming along with the rest of the Internet. The comedian has yet to respond to the backlash. He might have a hard time redeeming himself after this one, though.
