One Direction Will Release Their Sophomore Album by This Christmas!
While we’re still trying to get One Direction’s first few singles “What Makes You Beautiful”, “Gotta Be You” and “One Thing” out of our heads, Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik and Harry Styles have been hard at work on their second album, which is expected to be released in just six short months.
A source close to the boys dished to Daily Star, a tabloid newspaper in the United Kingdom, “The plan is to have a new single out around November, with the album to follow a week or two later.” Although the guys haven’t confirmed the happy news yet, we hope the rumor is true!
Fans can expect to hear songs about the One Direction guys’ girlfriends on the upcoming album; when asked about whether or not the boys were writing about their ladies back home, Louis told Hollywood Life, “Yeah… Well me, Liam and Harry started writing a song and then Zayn came and got involved as well. We’re writing songs about being away from home, being away from girlfriends, that kind of thing.”
One Direction’s debut album Up All Night is still pretty new; it came out this past November in the UK, and it wasn’t released in the United States and Canada until March.
This news comes shortly after talk about One Direction starring in their own 3D movie, either a concert documentary or scripted comedy, recently surfaced. The movie won’t come out until November of 2013, but at least One Direction fans will have the new album to hold them over until then.
Are you excited for One Direction’s second album? What do you think it will sound like? Do you think 1D is getting too big too fast?
