It looks like the cast of Insurgent is coming together! It was announced on Monday that Oscar winner Octavia Spencer would be joining the cast of Divergent's upcoming sequel as Johanna, the leader of the Amity faction. According to the character's Wiki page, Johanna's description is as follows:

"Johanna Reyes is the representative of Amity. She transferred from Candor. Her most notable feature is a long scar running from her eye to her chin, rendering her blind in one eye and giving her a lisp when she speaks. Tris says that she could almost be pretty if it weren't for this. It is said briefly in Allegiant that Tobias believes that she had gotten the scar from either her parents or a friend. It is never fully said however how she actually did receive the scar. It is believed that she got it when she had been in Candor."

In case you need some background, at the end of Divergent, Tris (Shailene Woodley), Four (Theo James), Caleb (Ansel Elgort), and a number of others leave the Dauntless faction after the vicious battle with Erudite. In the book Insurgent, they end up taking shelter at Amity, hence, where Octavia's character comes in.

There are some other key roles that need to be cast before Insurgent starts filming in Atlanta in the coming weeks. Well, that's assuming these characters end up in the movie, as other characters from the first book — such as Uriah — were cut out completely. If our guesses are correct, they'll need to cast Four's mom and Susan, a member of Abnegation who has a crush on Caleb — among others.

It was previously believed that Camp Rock's Meaghan Martin was going to play Susan since she was listed as doing so on IMDB, but that rumor was debunked. A rep from Summit denied that claim saying: "This is inaccurate. We are just getting started."

And there you have it. Are you excited for Octavia to join the cast of Insurgent? Sound off in the comments! Oh, and mark your calendars — Insurgent hits theaters on March 20, 2015.

Movie moments only TRUE Divergent fans will appreciate.
