SZA Confirms a Collaboration with Normani Kordei is Def “Going Down”

Happy Halloween, everyone! While a large majority of the population is celebrating the spooky holiday today (’cause, ya know, it’s the official date and all), we celebrated a little bit early, courtesy of Vevo‘s first-ever U.S. Halloween concert.

Vevo Halloween 2017 place in San Francisco, Calif., on Saturday and featured VEVO Lift artists SZA, Khalid, Julia Michaels, Aminé and Jessie Reyez. Not only were we able to watch these amazing musicians perform their biggest hits, but we also got the chance to TALK to them before the gig. We know — #humblebrag.

SZA had a HUGE 2017, playing shows all over the world, getting nominated for Best New Artist at the MTV Video Music Awards and releasing her debut album, Ctrl. If you follow the 26-year-old on Twitter, you’ll know she and Fifth Harmony singer Normani Kordei are basically obsessed with each other, and often talk about collaborating in the future. Seeing as we’re nosy AF and love both ladies, we simply had to ask what’s going on on the duet front. SPOILER ALERT! The answer is v positive.

“Yeah, I love her,” she told us exclusively when we asked if a collaboration is going to come. “She’s super beautiful energy-wise. It’s going down! She’s busy as hell. When she gets some time to slow down…when we both slow down and find each other, [it’ll happen].”

Another artist that the 21-year-old has publicly spoken very highly of is Khalid, who WON Best New Artist over SZA at the VMAs. The 19-year-old superstar says winning the highly coveted award was, so far, the highlight of his career.

“I think that was the moment that solidified the fact that I’m not just a 19-year-old kid from El Paso that’s making music, I’m known an I gotta do something with that,” he told us. “I gotta use my platform for the better. It’s been an amazing experience. That was definitely the icing on the cake so far. We gotta keep adding the layers.”

The teenager previously admitted that he, too, is working on a collab with the 5H singer.

He told Billboard at the VMAs, “We haven’t started yet, but we’ve gone over ideas. It’s gonna be great. Whatever happens, it’s gonna be amazing. She’s a beautiful person. She’s a great friend. I’m really excited to work with her.”

Between the info about a SZA-Normani collaboration AND the incredible concert, we must say that the United States edition of Vevo Halloween was a major success!
