Oh, So That’s Why Nina Dobrev Left The Vampire Diaries
Nina Dobrev‘s departure from The Vampire Diaries before the final season shocked fans all over the world… but now, over two years later, fans may finally have an answer to why she left.
The 28-year-old actress explained her decision in a recent interview with harper by Harper’s Bazaar. She said she always planned to leave at the end of her six-year contract:
“If anything, the fact that [leaving] terrified me drove me even more,” she explained. “I needed to feel that fear of, ‘Oh, my God, what if I never get a job again?’ That just made me want to work five times as hard to make sure that didn’t happen.”
The brunette beauty also explained that she is now picky with the roles she chooses. Up until this point, she has often played far younger than a woman pushing the age of 30.
“I don’t want to play a teenager anymore,” she said. “I want to play adult roles and be challenged and work with great filmmakers and tell incredible stories, and that has meant being really picky.”
Nina has landed multiple roles since TVD, including parts in Flatliners and Crash Pad. It seems her post-CW career is far from over.
