Nicki Minaj and Cardi B Got Into a Fight at NYFW & Things Got UGLY
It looks like the drama between Cardi B and Nicki Minaj finally came to a head this past weekend. On Friday, both rappers were attending the Harper’s Bazaar Icons party when a fight broke out between the two of them. Naturally, everyone went crazy as the two have had a long history of trouble between them.
The drama between the two started all the way back in March 2017, when the “Superbass” artist seemingly liked a comment on a video of one of Cardi’s freestyles that said, “dumba** bars.” From then on, the diss tracks came in hot. Both the “Bodak Yellow” and “Anaconda” rappers were definitely shading each other via lyrics. Many assumed Cardi called Nicki out on the song “No Limit” with the line, “Can you stop with all the subs? Bitch, I ain’t Jared.”
But, what stayed on the Internet for over a year finally got physical on Friday. After the “Bartier Cardi” singer thought Nicki had something about her new baby, Kulture, the altercation ensued. According to People, “All of the sudden there was a big commotion and everyone didn’t know what was going on.” Cardi was then seen being pulled away from the scene with a huge welt on her forehead and her Dolce & Gabbana gown ripped.
Today, Nicki broke her silence on the brawl during an interview with BBC Radio 1. “The other night, I was a part of something so mortifying, so humiliating to go through in front of upper echelon people — it’s not about black or white — people who have their lives together,” she said. “I was mortified… I could not believe how humiliated I felt… how we — and I use the term ‘we’ loosely — made ourselves look.”
Hopefully, both celebs will make amends with each other in the near future.
