For, Like, the 1000th Time, Nick Jonas Drops Music on the Worst Possible Date
WHY DOES HE KEEP DOING THIS TO HIMSELF? Yesterday, Nick Jonas announced the title, release date, cover art and tracklist for his upcoming album, Last Year Was Complicated, which left fans begging for more. So, naturally, he dropped a brand-spanking-new music video a day later. Although that’s been the plan for a while, someone should’ve advised against it because… Zayn Malik‘s debut solo album just dropped today, too!
Not only that, but the former One Direction singer also released a new music video for his latest single, “BeFoUr,” which has been regarded as a diss to his former band, therefore, it’s a far bigger deal then anything the Jonas Brothers alum could shell out.
Then again, this has slowly become the 23-year-old “Jealous” crooner’s calling card, as this is the fourth time that he’s dropped fresh tunes on the worst possible date. Last summer, when “Levels” first debuted, 1D unexpectedly released the music video for “Drag Me Down.” Then, the same night the MV for “Levels” premiered, Taylor Swift‘s “Wildest Dreams” music video stole the spotlight. Then, when Nick’s “Area Code” music video hit the Internet, his pal, Demi Lovato, strutted her stuff in the “Confident” vid for the first time.
What’s next? Justin Bieber steals his thunder? Or Selena Gomez? Or Miley Cyrus? Last Year Was Complicated is slated for release on June 10… which is the Friday before his anniversary with Miley (“11 nights into June”), so our money’s on her. But whatever, let’s all try to celebrate Nick at least a little bit today. Watch the music video for “Close” here:
