Niall Horan’s First Solo Album, Flicker, is Coming Out in Just Over a Month!
Annnnd we have a release date for Niall Horan‘s first solo album! The One Direction guy announced that Flicker is coming out on October 20, 2017, which means we only have a little over a month to wait.
“It’s been a long time coming but I’m delighted to announce that my new album Flicker is out on the 20th of October,” he wrote on Instagram. “I hope you enjoy it.”
The 24-year-old is currently on the Flicker Sessions 2017 tour, which started in Dublin, Ireland, in August. So far, he’s released two solo singles, “This Town” and “Slow Hands.”
Back in July, the Irish cutie predicted that the CD would be out in October, as well as gave some information about its vibe.
“‘Slow Hands’ is probably the most out-there song on the album, but the rest of is quite chilled out,” he said. “I already had all the nice, finger-picked guitar stuff and the more mid-tempo stuff, but it was missing that kind of sexiness — that early 1980s funk rock that I’m kind of into, as well.”
Niall also revealed that one track has “more of a country feel to it.” We can assume that this is a reference to “Seeing Blind,” which is a collaboration with country sensation Marren Morris that came about after the once-blond saw her perform with Alicia Keys at the 2017 Grammy Awards.
The Irish cutie purposely wanted to take his time with this album and thoroughly enjoyed creating tunes in a different setting than he ever had before.
“Giving myself the time to make the album, and being in the studio and having control over absolutely everything that happens — every sound from every drum, every guitar — has been amazing.”
We are so freakin’ excited for this album!
