Is Ed Sheeran’s “Don’t” Track About Niall Horan & Ellie Goulding?
If all goes as expected, Ed Sheeran‘s x album will be perfection in music form. (Hello, have you heard “Sing” yet??) However, the Twitter-sphere is causing major drama when it comes to one of the UK singer’s particular tracks, “Don’t.”
In an interview with The Mirror (via Huffington Post), the 23-year-old says of the song, “The story in ‘Don’t’ is 100% true. I could have gotten nastier — there was more s*** that I didn’t put in.”
And with lyrics like “I never saw him as a threat, ’til you disappeared with him to have sex. If I show courtesy and respect to someone, I expect to receive it. When we’re in the same hotel, and I’m downstairs at my party and you’re upstairs doing that, that’s disrespectful,” of COURSE people will speculate. And the public is led to believe that the tune in question is about Niall Horan and Ellie Goulding!
“I was seeing someone for a bit, and then they ended up physically involved with one of my friends in the same hotel that we were staying in, while I was downstairs,” he continues. “And I feel, like, treat people how you want to be treated.”
Considering there was definitely something going on between the redheaded crooner and the “Lights” singer at one point — remember how they held hands at the MTV EMAs last year? — it’s not out of the realm of possibility. Or, at least that’s what we thought until Niall seemingly addressed the situation on Twitter saying, “So many lazy and s*** rumours flying around! get a grip!” Hmm… so, that wasn’t an outright denial, but then again, it wasn’t an admission either. We don’t know what to believe!
