Niall Horan is Taking a Break After Tour, But It’s for Good Reason
Niall Horan has been on the Flicker World Tour since March and plans to continue touring around the globe through September. But if you didn’t get to check him out live this time around, you might have a wait a little while before he hits the stage again.
The 24-year-old singer revealed that he plans to take an extended break after this tour wraps up, but before you start having flashbacks to One Direction‘s hiatus announcement, let us explain. Niall says he hasn’t really been writing new music lately because he’s so busy on the road, which is why he really wants to buckle down and create some bops once tour is over.
He tells Page Six about his second solo album, “Nothing has really come yet. When I’m on tour I get into such a routine. And when you’re writing songs I feel like that needs to be 100% your focus.”
That is why, he says, he needs to step away from the limelight for a bit to really hone in on his craft.
“I’m going to take a couple of months off after the tour, which finishes in September,” he explains. “Then I’ll just write until I’ve got good tunes. I’m not coming back until I do.”
“I find that the slower songs come more naturally for me,” he continues. “I would like to create a bit more of the up-tempo stuff and try to cement my sound. That’s something to work on.”
Niall will be working on the follow-up to his debut solo album, Flicker, which was released in October 2017.
