Naya Rivera Files for Divorce from Ryan Dorsey for the Second Time

Just over a week after she was arrested for domestic battery, Naya Rivera has filed for divorce from husband Ryan Dorsey for the second time in about a year.

TMZ reports that the former Glee actress cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason she’s ending the 3-year marriage. Naya wants joint custody of the pair’s 2-year-old son, Josey, and for the court to block either from getting spousal support.

The 30-year-old first filed for divorce from the 34-year-old in November 2016, but called it off about two months ago. Naya told People magazine that it was a “personal decision” to stay with the actor.

“It is what it is, but I’m glad that my family is together,” she explained at the time.

Sources tell TMZ that the pair’s altercation, which landed the brunette in jail, was the last straw. Naya was arrested and charged with misdemeanor domestic battery on November 25 after she allegedly got into an altercation with Ryan over their child and struck him on the face and head multiple times while they were in West Virginia with his family for Thanksgiving.

Local news reporter Kalea Gunderson, who was in the courtroom while she was arraigned, stated that “Ryan Dorsey told police she struck him in the head and bottom lip when they were on a walk with their child.” Ryan also allegedly had video footage of the attack and was able to show police when they arrived on the scene at around 9:30 p.m.

The Step Up: High Water star was allegedly drinking before she got violent with her husband.

“My wife is out of control,” Ryan could be heard saying during his call to 911.

RD hasn’t commented on the divorce, but he did write a note following the domestic violence incident.
