Naya Rivera’s Domestic Battery Charges Dropped at Request of Ryan Dorsey

Naya Rivera will no longer be facing the repercussions of being charged with domestic battery, as ex Ryan Dorsey requested to have the charges dismissed. According to Us magazine, the 34-year-old “notified both the prosecution and defense counsel [last week] that he is non-desirous of any prosecution and has confirmed he was never at any time injured by any conduct of Ms. Rivera.”

TMZ recently obtained photos of the alleged injuries the Ray Donovan star received after an altercation with the Glee actress on Thanksgiving weekend.

Naya was arrested and charged with misdemeanor domestic battery after she allegedly got into an altercation with Ryan over their child and struck him on the face and head multiple times. The incident happened on November 25, 2017, in Chesapeake, West Virginia, where the pair was celebrating Thanksgiving with their 2-year-old son, Josey.

Local news reporter Kalea Gunderson, who was in the courtroom while the brunette was arraigned, stated, “Ryan Dorsey told police she struck him in the head and bottom lip when they were on a walk with their child.”

Sgt. Brian Humphreys of the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office explained at the time, “I can just say that there was enough in the video to corroborate the statement of the video and that was why the decision was made that was made. There was some independent corroboration for what he said happened.”

Ryan’s 911 call was later released and he could be heard telling the operator that he’s dealing with a “domestic dispute” and that he “need[s] a police officer” because his “wife is out of control.”

Authorities on the call alleged Naya was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident.

NR filed for divorce from RD about a week after her arrest.
