6 Famous Singers Who Absolutely Hate Their Musical Collaborations
Musical duets can be pure gold. Nick Jonas & Demi Lovato‘s “Avalanche,” Taylor Swift & Ed Sheeran‘s “Everything Has Changed” and Shawn Mendes & Camila Cabello‘s “I Know What You Did Last Summer” are some prime examples. You can listen to them on repeat for days at a time and never get bored. Then there are other duets, like those of celebrity siblings Britney & Jamie Lynn Spears, Jaden & Willow Smith, Jessica & Ashlee Simpson, etc. that were good jams, too, but easy to forget.
Sadly, not all collaborations are winners — at least in the eyes, and ears, of the musicians singing ’em. In 2015 alone, there were at least 11 duets that crashed and burned. While some of these pairings may’ve looked good on paper, the performers themselves were certainly not fans:
DUET PARTNER: Beyoncé
WHAT SHE SAYS: Lady Gaga might have a good relationship with her "Telephone" collaborator, but she does NOT like their video together. The 2010 track was a major hit, combining two of the fiercest singers ever, but their music video for the tune hit a sour note (at least in the "Born This Way" singer's mind).
"I hate it so much," she told Time Out. "Beyoncé and I are great together, but there are so many f**king ideas in that video. All I see in that video is my brain throbbing with ideas and I wish I had edited myself a little but more."
