13 Musicians Who Dropped Solo Music While Still in a Band
When you’ve got a band that you follow, the last thing that you’d expect to hear is solo music from one of its members. It’s sort of an unspoken agreement that they’ll stay together 4ever. (Maybe the band members aren’t aware of this agreement, which is evidenced by the fact that they KEEP breaking up, left and right. But the rest of us are.)
That’s why, when you DO get a listen to the surprise music of one of your favorite band members, it comes as nothing less than a huge shock. And this shock is followed immediately by the feeling of impending doom, marked by fear that they’ll break away from their band members sooner rather than later.
If you don’t remember this distinct sensation, just think back to these 13 times that some of your favorite musicians dropped solo music while still in a band:
In the very early stages of the formation of the Jonas Brothers, Nick was still riding the wave of his solo career, which he would ultimately revisit post-JB. The release of his self-titled debut album basically coincided with the signing of Nick and his brothers, Joe and Kevin, to Columbia Records and the beginning of their touring with other musical acts.
