10 Musicians That Were Forced to Perform at the Same Event as Their Ex
When celebrities choose to date other celebrities, there is always a chance that they will run into one another at least once post breakup (a.k.a. all the time Taylor Swift ran into her exes). With celeb romances comes celeb breakups, which suck, but they usually produce some pretty amazing songs. Come on, what would Nick Jonas‘ songs be like if they weren’t written about his exes? Boring, duh!
Some singers take the high road and even manage to perform with their exes on stage after their splits, while others avoid them all together. For the stars who try and hide from their famous ex, having to perform on the same stage or at the same event as their former flame is basically torture. But these guys still did it:
Ellie Goulding & Ed Sheeran
Ed is the host and a performer at this year's MTV EMAs in Milan (on Oct. 25) which might pose a problem since Ellie will also be singing at the award show. In 2014 rumors spread that Ed and Ellie were secretly dating, but they broke up because she cheated on him with One Direction's Niall Horan. Ed's song, "Don't" was reportedly written and inspired by that betrayal.
In an interview with The Sun Ed revealed that he got over the anger "the moment I wrote the song." Despite reports of a relationship, Ellie told Elle UK that she did go on a few dates with Niall, "but I was never in a relationship with Ed." With so much controversy around their possible relationship sharing the stage could get very interesting!
