‘The Dictator’ Film Review

The Dictator

When Sascha Baron Cohen attended the 2012 Oscars as his character, General Aladeen, and dumped “Kim Jong Il’s ashes” on Ryan Seacrest, I predicted the worst for the film The Dictator. Cohen is known for his offensive, intrusive humor. Considering he’s done two films and a television show successfully with that humor, I figured we’ve seen it before and The Dictator will be no different.

I was pleasantly surprised then when I attended a screening of the film last night. The film of course had moments of childish bathroom humor, offensive jokes and overall silliness, but within a scripted, traditional narrative format, it left the overall theme and message of the film much more enjoyable and bearable to watch.

‘Iron Sky’ Trailer Is Full Of Moon Nazi’s & Sarah Palin Impressions

Sacha Baron Cohen Is ‘The Dictator’

Paramount Pictures has released the first trailer to Sacha Baron Cohen’s Bruno follow-up, The Dictator.  Inspired by the best selling novel Zabibah and The King that was supposedly written by former Iraq dictator Saddam Hussein, the film is the hilarious tell of a dictator who risked his life to ensure that democracy would never come to the country he so lovingly oppressed.  The film co-stars Megan Fox, Anna Faris, Ben Kingsley and Jason Mantzoukas and is set to hit theaters May 11th, 2012.

‘Men In Black III’ First Trailer Debuts

Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones return as our favorite alien chasers in Men In Black III hitting theaters May 25th, 2012.  This time around, Will Smith’s “Agent J” must travel back in time to team up with a young “Agent K”, played by Josh Brolin, to save Tommy Lee Jones’ “Agent K” from an untimely demise while saving the world in the process.  The film also stars Jemaine Clement, Emma Thompson, Nicole Scherzinger, Alice Eve, Bill Hader and Michael Stuhlbarg.
