There was plenty to celebrate with the announcement of the nominees for the 84th Academy Awards this morning and some films will ultimately benefit from the news more than others. One of the biggest winners of the morning was Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close. The Tom Hanks/Sandra Bullock film had a limited run at the end of the year in order to be considered for this year’s awards season, but despite being a hit among critics, it failed to garner a single nomination. The film opened this past weekend to a fourth place finish with a less than stellar $10 million. Fast forward to this morning and the film is looking at potential box office gold.
