‘Mockingjay’ Casting News: Castor, Pollux and Homes Roles Filled
If you've been keeping track of all things Mockingjay, then you should know that we've been swamped with casting news as of late. No complaints though! But with the third movie in the Hunger Games series filming a go right now in Atlanta, this has to be the last of it.(.. right?) So, without further ado, here comes the latest:
Probably best known for his work on The Unit, though he may be recognizable to Teen readers for The Help, Wes Chatham will portray one of the cameramen who filmed Katniss in District 13's propos for the rebels, Castor. He's described as "a burly man with sandy hair, a red beard, blue eyes, and close-bitten nails.
Elden Henson is tapped to fill the role of Castor's brother, Pollux. He has very similar features to his brother, but has no tongue since he was made an Avox (a person who has been punished for rebelling against the Capitol) and had to work in the utility pipes and passages under the Capitol for five years.
And, finally, Homes, a soldier from District 13, will be played by Omid Abtahi. He's described as an "older guy" who never says much but can "shoot the dust off your boots at fifty yards."
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 1 is tapped to hit theaters on November 21, 2014, with Part 2 falling just short of a full year after on November 20, 2015. What do you think of the latest casting news? Share your thoughts in the comments section below, or on our new Mockingjay message board!
