Miley Cyrus’ “Wrecking Ball” Tears Were Inspired by Her Dead Dog, Lila

RCADespite much speculation that Miley Cyrus' "Wrecking Ball" music video was a symbol of the demise of her relationship with ex-fiance Liam Hemsworth, the 20-year-old singer's explanation about the tears she shed for it has nothing to do with the Aussie actor. Instead, it has to do with the demise of a different part of her life…

In an interview with Seattle's KISS FM, she reveals what she was channeling for the music vid: "When I was on the video set, I was thinking about my dog, [Lila], that had passed away, which is, like, the worst thing that has ever happened to me… So that was kind of like my inspiration when I was doing the video. For me, I kept thinking about that when I was trying to cry because it's more awkward actually crying in front of a room full of people than you think swinging naked on a wrecking ball is; it's a lot more uncomfortable to cry."

So there you have it, straight from the source herself. Are you a fan of "Wrecking Ball?" Would you like to hear MiCy perform more ballads, or stick to more upbeat tracks? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below, or on our Miley Cyrus message board!
