9 Miley Cyrus Songs That are Actually About Liam Hemsworth
July 1, 2018
Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth have been together for quite some time now (with a little break in between, of course), but we all know that their relationship has been filled with ups and downs. But despite the low points, we’re so glad they’re together again and doing great because, TBH, we were shipping them from the beginning.
It really shouldn’t come as a surprise that, like many other artists, the 25-year-old’s love life has influenced her music over the years. More specifically, the Australian actor has been the inspiration for many of MiCy’s hit songs, including a handful of unreleased tunes! Check ’em out!

album is full of references to Liam, and the song "Someone Else" is no exception. Bangerz
In an interview with , the singer spilled the tea that the whole album is really influenced by the Australian cutie, but especially "Someone Else." The whole album is, according to MiCy, a story of their relationship, both the good and bad parts. Ellen DeGeneres

We knew a song as good as "Wrecking Ball" had to be inspired by something in Miley's personal life, and Liam is that inspo. Although she never officially confirmed the tune's meaning, she hinted pretty hard about it.
After the couple ended things back in 2014,
Miley went off about Liam in a concert right before she sang "Wrecking Ball." She told the audience, "And every time you get in your car, you're going to hear my f*cking song on the f*cking radio, you piece of sh*t."
Um, yeah... So clearly the split wasn't as amicable as some originally thought?

Sometimes you just need to hop in your car and drive for hours, and that's exactly how Miley felt on Valentine's Day when thinking about Liam.
explained in 2013, "I wrote it while I was working on Valentine's Day — emotionally it was such a hard time. It is about needing to leave someone but not really wanting to completely cut yourself off from the relationship. It's a time when you want to leave but you can't. It's also about moving on."

After first glance, you may think, because of the title, that "Mailbu" is about Miley's time as pop star Hannah Montana. We wish, we wish. No, it's actually about Liam instead! She explained it all in an interview with
Billboard, saying that she wrote the hit single about the actor because the media was going to be talking about them anyway.
Unlike many of her other songs about Liam, however, this one is all about how they fell back in love in Malibu, California, where they share a home. SWOON!

"I Would Die For You"
If we were Miley, we would die for Liam too, TBH. We mean, who wouldn't? It's not confirmed, but a quick listen to the song's lyrics point right to Liam as the inspiration. Check it out yourself and, if by some reason you disagree, please explain (with supporting detail) why.

"Week Without You"
Like "I Would Die For You," we don't have official confirmation from Miley that "Week Without You" is about Liam. But, considering the timing of the song, when the couple broke up, and with the lyrics, it's pretty freakin' obvious where she got her inspiration.
She croons in the song, "I know that I gave you my heart / But you stomped it to the ground / And that's what got me wondering what it's like / To not have you around."

"She's Not Him"
Who is "She's Not Him" about? Well the "him" is Liam, obviously, but who is the "she"? None other than
Stella Maxwell, apparently!
From the lyrics, it seems like the song is about the end of Miley's relationship with Stella when she began to see that her feelings for Liam were still there and still strong.

Here's some extra tea: Miley's written many songs about Liam, and some of them haven't even officially been release! But luckily for us,
some have leaked over the years, including "Last Goodbye." The tune is clearly about her on-again, off-again relationship with the Aussie hunk, which you can tell from the lyrics.
"How has my best friend become such a stranger / It seemed like everything was fine / We've already been through this twice / And I'm never coming home for a last goodbye."
OUCH! Straight to the heart.

"Drive" wasn't the only car-themed song Miley wrote about Liam, but didn't give to fans. Another unreleased track from the album called "Mustang" is also about Liam. Where did she come up with the title, you may ask? Oh just 'cause he drives a little car called a Mustang. NBD!
