Miley Cyrus Graces Seventeen Magazine Cover Despite Declining Offer

In case you haven't heard the news/seen the pictures, Miley Cyrus is gracing two Hearst covers this month. One is for the May 2014 issue of ELLE; the other is for the same issue of Seventeen. The problem: She only agreed to one of them. Yikes.

Considering the shots for ELLE's Women in Music issue were nothing short of beautiful (and original), and the Miley quotes were exclusive to ELLE, while Seventeen's cover snapshot is from the 2014 Pre-Grammy Gala & Grammy Salute to Industry Icons — Clive Davis, you can probably guess which of the glossy publications she turned down. But, just to fill you in on all the details, here's what WWD had to say: "[Miley is] very, very selective when it comes to magazine covers. Miley declined Seventeen and denied being a part of it, completely."

It continues, "But Seventeen still pushed for Cyrus and, with or without her consent, will be rolling issues of her onto newsstands everywhere. Because of Cyrus' unwillingness to participate, the May edition will include stock photos of her as well as a write-around inside its pages — none of which were approved by Cyrus' team."

A spokesperson from the mag responds, "Seventeen readers love Miley Cyrus, and we cover her every chance we get. She ranked high on the March issue's Girl Power List. Our readers asked for more, so we responded as quickly as possible. Miley's currently on tour promoting Bangerz, so what better time than now to celebrate her and give our readers what they want."

The May 2014 issue of Seventeen hits newsstands on April 15, but you can learn more about what it will entail by visiting Seventeen.com now.
