Before Midnight Sun, You’ve Gotta Hear Patrick & Bella’s Embarrassing Texts
The time has (almost) come, guys — Midnight Sun hits theaters this Friday! That’s right, your next favorite YA romance is heading to theaters, like, really soon, and we are all sorts of pumped. Bella Thorne + Patrick Schwarzenegger? Yes and yes.
The 20-year-old Disney Channel alum has all sorts of projects in the works this year, including the second season of her Freeform series, Famous in Love, but we’ve been the most eager to see her star opposite the 24-year-old cutie in one of his first leading roles. Based on the trailer, we knew they’d have crazy chemistry on the big screen. And if that weren’t enough, the synopsis totally convinced us that Midnight Sun was worth a trip to the movies:
An epic romantic drama, Midnight Sun tells the life-affirming story of 17-year-old Katie Price, sheltered since childhood with a rare disease that makes even the smallest amount of sunlight deadly. During the day she is housebound, but after nightfall, Katie’s world opens up, as she is able to venture out to the local train station and play her guitar for travelers. One night, fate intervenes when she meets Charlie, a high school all-star athlete, whom she has secretly admired for years. She hides her condition from him as the two embark on a uniquely powerful romance over one nearly perfect summer.
Trust us, you will be OB-sessed.
Upon seeing the flick, Clevver host Renee Ariel got the chance to sit down with the two young stars to talk about the disease that Bella’s character suffers from, Xeroderma pigmentosum (XP), plus lighter topics, such as embarrassing texts, texting dos & don’ts (ex. “I think it’s okay to be weird and shy and funny in the text”—Patrick) and play a game of Would You Rather?
Midnight Sun, starring Bella Thorne & Patrick Schwarzenegger, hits theaters on March 23. Until then, watch Clevver’s interview above!
