Melissa Benoist and Becca Tobin Join ‘Glee’ for Season Four!
Last week, we introduced you to cuties Dean Geyer and Jacob Artist, who will be playing Brody and Jake respectively in the upcoming season four of Glee. Dean will be playing a potential new love interest for Lea Michele’s character Rachel Berry at NYADA, while Jacob will be taking on the role of Puck’s (Mark Salling) younger brother – two awesome-sounding guy characters that Glee fans can’t wait to meet. But what about the girls?
It was just announced that Melissa Benoist and Becca Tobin will be the newest ladies in Lima! Melissa will play a girl named Marley and Becca will play a girl named Kitty, and they’ll both be students at the fictional William McKinley High School. Not much else was revealed about their characters, other than that they’re both recurring roles.
Both actresses are pretty new to the Hollywood acting game. Melissa has guest starred on TV shows like Homeland, The Good Wife, Blue Bloods and both the Special Victims Unit and Criminal Intent versions of Law and Order in the last few years. She was also in the indie flick Tennessee, which starred 10 Things I Hate About You’s Ethan Peck and the newest confirmed American Idol judge Mariah Carey. Plus, she’s been in theater productions like Footloose and most recently in a Tampax Radiant commercial. As for Becca? This is her first time on TV, but definitely not her first singing and acting gig; she was in the original Broadway production of Rock of Ages!
Considering their performance backgrounds, we’re willing to bet they’ll be new member of the New Directions, joining Tina, Artie, Sam and the rest of the gang who didn’t graduate at the end of last season.
Are you excited to see Melissa and Becca in season four? What kind of roles do you think Marley and Kitty will be?
