So many treats from The Maze Runner, it’s probably hard for you fans to keep up. Nevertheless, we’re still gonna share as much as possible with you because we’re ob-SESSED! As you probably know, we went to the set of the Dylan O’Brien-led film one week prior to the end of shooting. There, we got to chat with literally everyone, including the lovely Kaya Scodelario.
You may recognize the beautiful 22-year-old English actress from Skins, in which she played Nicholas Hoult‘s younger sister, Effy, but you’re about to see her in a whole new light as she brings the only female in The Glade, Teresa, to life on the big screen. Read on to find out what she told us about her character’s relationship with Dylan’s, the intense training sessions, portraying a strong female character and more!
Being the only girl in the film, what was it like the first time you got on set?
"Terrifying. Absolutely terrifying. Not only is it my first big American film, but it's a full cast of boys, so I was like, 'Oh, I’m gonna be the girl. I'm gonna be all emotional and they're gonna hate me. And I'm gonna complain about the bugs, and they're gonna think I'm stupid' and all these things, but one of my best friends back at home is a boy and I've kind of been brought up around boys, so I'm quite comfortable with them. The first thing I actually said to them when I met them was that I was really gassy on the plane. And I think that kinda gave us a nice even level, and we bonded really quickly — with all of them."
