Zoey 101 Star Rescues Baby After Parents’ Drug Use Causes Crash Car

The last time Matthew Underwood made headlines, it was because he was doing drugs. This time, he’s in the news because he saved someone one from them.

TMZ reports that the former Zoey 101 star rescued a 4-month-old baby from a car accident last week in Port St. Lucie, FL. Authorities told the website that the 26-year-old actor was one of the first people to respond to the scene of a wreck that occurred on Thursday after a woman passed out with a heroin syringe in her arm, cut across six lanes of traffic, and crashed into a tree.

When Matt ran up to the car, he also found the baby’s father passed out in the back seat next to the child, who was in an unsecured car seat. The actor took the baby out of the vehicle and told his brother to call 911. Luckily, the infant was not harmed in the accident.

Matthew recorded the scene (you can watch the video here), which showed both parents passed out in the car and the baby outside on the grass, because “he wanted to document [it] before he intervened in case things went south.”

The ‘rents were arrested and charged with child neglect and drug possession and the baby was given to a family member.
