Rumors are Already Swirling About 2019 Super Bowl Halftime Show Performer

Super Bowl Halftime Show, here we come!

According to Us Weekly, Maroon 5 has been invited to headline next year’s Super Bowl LIII Halftime Show. The band would be following in the footsteps of previous halftime performers Katy Perry, Bruno Mars, Lady Gaga, Beyonce, and Justin Timberlake.

“The offer has been extended and they’ve pretty much accepted,” reports Us Weekly.

Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine will certainly be happy with this news, as he previously told Howard Stern back in 2015, “We very actively want to play the Super Bowl.” The Voice coach also revealed at the time that the group had been on a shortlist to do the gig for a while, which means this has been a long time coming.

M5’s currently on its Red Pill Blues Tour, but the group has a break between a Las Vegas New Year’s Eve gig and the Australian leg of the tour at the end of February, so the guys are wide open to play Super Bowl 53, which kicks off on February 3rd, 2019.

Here’s to hoping some of Adam’s fellow The Voice coaches will make surprise cameos! (Hey, if Beyonce can do it with Destiny’s Child…)
