Mark Salling Officially Pleads Guilty to Possession of Child Pornography

Mark Salling is one step closer for going to jail for his disgusting actions. The former Glee star arrived at the Los Angeles courthouse yesterday to officially plead guilty to possession of child pornography involving a prepubescent minor.

The 35-year-old confirmed his decision to enter into a plea deal in October, explaining, “I am pleading guilty because I am guilty of the charges and wish to take advantages of the promises set forth in this agreement, and not for any other reason.”

Prosecutors say Mark had more than 50,000 images of child porn and child erotica in his possession at the time of his arrest in December 2015 and the victims were ages 3 to 5.

According to court docs, he used his home computer to “download thousands of images of child pornography” from April 2015 until he was arrested. He allegedly tried to go undetected by police by using a software that hides his IP address, but he showed some of the pictures to an adult female on two occasions and she subsequently reported him.

When cops searched his house, they found 50,000 pictures and videos of child pornography on his laptop and 4,000 photos on a flash drive.

Originally, the actor could’ve faced up to 20 years in prison for his crimes, but now will get only four to seven years as a result of the plea deal. Mark also must register as a sex offender and won’t be able to communicate with anyone under the age of 18 unless a parent or guardian is present. He’ll have to stay 100 feet away from schoolyards and parks, public swimming pools, playgrounds, and video arcade facilities and will be supervised for 20 years once he’s released from jail. He also will have to pay $50,000 in restitution to each victim who requested financial compensation and must enter a sex offender treatment program.

Mark is currently out on bail, but will officially be sentenced in March 2018.
