The Latest in Mark Salling’s Vomit-Worthy Child Porn Scandal
“He’s innocent until proven guilty” — that’s what many Glee fans said after Mark Salling was arrested for possession of child pornography in December. While that remains true for everyone (in the U.S.), things are not pointing toward innocence for the Gleeky alum.
Word just broke out that the 33-year-old actor, who portrayed Noah “Puck” Puckerman on the Fox dramedy throughout its duration, was indicted on charges of receiving and possessing child pornography. A statement through the Justice Department reads, “Those who download and possess child pornography create a market that causes more children to be harmed. Young victims are harmed every time an image is generated, every time it is distributed, and every time it is viewed.”
The two-count indictment means that the actor faces a minimum sentence of 5 years in federal prison and a maximum sentence of 20 years for the first count: receiving child porn; a maximum sentence of 20 years in federal prison for the second count: possessing child porn.
“These images are more than photographs, they are child abuse,” says Commander of LAPD Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force Lt. Andrea Grossman.
Now, all everyone can do is wait to see if justice will be served in the abuse case.
The Mark Salling indictment isn’t the only scandal surrounding a Glee cast member. Here are 12 of the most shocking controversies:
In December 2015, Mark was arrested for possession of child pornography. The details are completely disgusting — police allegedly found more than a thousand illicit sexual images on his computer, some featuring children who are under 10 years old! As much as we liked him as Puck, there's just no excuse for something like this. If he's found guilty, well, good luck in jail, buddy.
