Mark Salling Going to Prison After Pleading Guilty to Child Porn Charges

By  |

Mark Salling has pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography involving a prepubescent minor and agreed to serve four to seven years years in prison, according to court documents obtained by The Blast. The former Glee star will also have to register as a sex offender and won’t be able to communicate with anyone under the age of 18 unless a parent or guardian is present. He could’ve faced up to 20 years in prison for his actions.

Following the 35-year-old’s release from prison, he must stay 100 feet away from schoolyards and parks, public swimming pools, playgrounds, and video arcade facilities and will be supervised for 20 years. Mark also will have to pay $50,000 in restitution to each victim who requested financial compensation and must enter a sex offender treatment program.

“I am pleading guilty because I am guilty of the charges and wish to take advantages of the promises set forth in this agreement, and not for any other reason,” he said about his decision to plead guilty.

The celebrity was arrested for possession of child pornography in late December 2015. According to court docs, he used his home computer to “download thousands of images of child pornography” from April 2015 through the time of his arrest. He allegedly tried to go undetected by police by using a software that hides his IP address, but he showed some of the pictures to an adult female on two occasions and she subsequently reported him.

When cops searched his house, they found 50,000 images and videos of child pornography on his laptop and 4,000 photos on a flash drive.

Mark 100% deserves to be imprisoned for his disgusting actions and, if we’re being quite honest, four to seven years behind bars seems pretty lenient after the disturbing nature of his crime.

Mark Salling is only one former Glee star who was involved in a scandal:
