Child Porn Charges Aren’t the Only Bad News Items for Mark Salling This Week

By  |

He brought this on himself. In light of the news that Mark Salling‘s facing a two-count indictment — one for receiving child pornography; one for possessing child pornography — there’s more bad news for the Glee alum: he was dropped from his upcoming mini-series.

After word got out about the 33-year-old’s pedophilic scandal, the director of Gods and Secrets, Adi Shankar, released a statement that the feature “will be moving forward” sans Mark. “The innocence of our planet’s children is something that must be protected at all costs,” he said. “As entertainers, our role is to be the ‘conscience of humanity,’ striving to make the world better for future generations. Sadly, we live in a country where statistically at least 1 in 5 women will be sexually assaulted in their lifetime, 80,000 children are reportedly sexually abused every year, and at least 1 in 6 boys and 1 in 4 girls are sexually abused before the age of 18.”

He continued to list further nauseating statistics before concluding that the man who brought Noah “Puck” Puckerman to the small screen “has been cut from the mini-series,” and that the director himself “will personally be paying for the reshoots, and I hope that Mark finds inner peace. Furthermore, a percentage of profits from the project will go to a charity for abused children.”

While this is obviously not the worst news Mark’s ever received, we’re sure the loss of a paying gig doesn’t help.
