Mandy Teefey Shades Selena Gomez’s Woody Allen Role & Jelena Reunion
Selena Gomez and her mom, Mandy Teefey, used to be as thick as thieves, but it looks like the reports that the ladies are on shaky ground are accurate. The 41-year-old not only gave an entire interview talking about how much she hates her daughter’s rekindled relationship with Justin Bieber, but also slammed her decision to be a part of accused child molester Woody Allen‘s new movie, A Rainy Day in New York.
Mandy told Gossip Cop that she’s “not happy” that SelGo and JB are back together, but acknowledges that her daughter is no longer a child and can make her own decisions.
“Selena can live her life however she wants as long as she is happy, safe and healthy,” she continued. “She is 25 years old and knows what is at stake with her health. I do not control her the way it has been portrayed. Selena is an adult and can make her own choices.”
There was speculation that the drama between the pair started after Sel fired her mom and stepdad as her managers in 2014, but Mandy says that’s not true.
She explained, “Every mother and daughter has disagreements. We never expected to manage her her whole life. We lost family time because the only time we saw her, we talked business. It was no longer fun for any of us, like it was when she was younger and we had to be with her because she was a minor.”
But Mandy didn’t stop there. She later jumped on Instagram to reply to a fan who told her to “make Selena write an apology” for her decision to work for an accused sexual predator. She claims she tried to warn the former Disney Channel star about being involved with Woody, but “it didn’t click.”
“Sorry, no one can make Selena do anything she doesn’t want to,” she wrote. “I had a long talk with her about not working with him and it didn’t click. Her team are amazing people. There is no fall person here. No one controls her. She makes all her own decisions. No matter how hard you try to advise. It falls on deaf ears.”
So Mandy just confirmed that Selena’s team & her warned Selena about working with Woody Allen. So she can’t say she didn’t “know” or was “unclear.” Her mom confirmed that Selena is tone deaf, and had a actually desire to work with Woody. pic.twitter.com/bPsKGXShq7

Selly’s A Rainy Day in New York co-star, Timothée Chalamet, decided yesterday to donate his entire salary from the film to three incredible charities so he can “be worthy of standing should to shoulder with the brave artists who are fighting for all people to be treated with the respect and dignity they deserve.”
