Congrats! Another Teenage Internet Star Just Came Out as Bisexual

It’s been over a week since National Coming Out Day passed, but that isn’t stopping some of our favorite Internet stars from ~celebrating~ the holiday. Yesterday, Madison Beer revealed she is open to loving both men and women, and has even fallen in love with a girl in the past. Today, another teenage Internet star is opening up about her sexuality.

Maggie Lindemann, a singer and social-media sensation, took to Periscope last night to make the extremely personal announcement.

“I wanted to tell you guys that I do like girls,” she said while holding back tears. “Pretty much, I have liked girls my entire life since I was like five. I’ve always just looked at girls like anyone looks at boys.”

The 18-year-old then used Snapchat to confirm that she still likes boys, too.

Although Maggie was “so happy to finally have that off [her] chest” and people (including her ex-boyfriend Carter Reynolds) were, for the most part, very supportive, she still had some haters telling her that her decision to come out as bisexual wasn’t authentic.

“My sexuality is not a f*cking trend,” she tweeted in response to the hate. “Don’t treat it like one. Hiding something for 18 years then sitting in front of a LIVE broadcast trying to explain yourself is scary. It wasn’t a joke and I wasn’t being sarcastic. Maybe you think I was being ‘over dramatic,’ but everyone handles things differently. I couldn’t help the tears.”

While Maggie came out on Periscope, these stars used YouTube for their announcement:
