Lucy Hale’s Friends Can’t Even Look at Her the Same Way After Truth or Dare
Even with Pretty Little Liars out of the picture, Lucy Hale can still be seen basically everywhere you look. Tune in for The CW’s new series, Life Sentence, and she can be seen, front and center. Turn on Netflix and, eventually, you’ll see her light up the screen in Dude. And, as of this weekend, head to the theaters and she’ll send chills up your spine, courtesy of her latest movie, Truth or Dare.
For the first time since 2011’s Scream 4, the 28-year-old actress is appearing in a horror movie. Except, this time, she doesn’t die within the first 10 minutes of the movie — she’s the flick’s leading lady!
“I shot that over the summer,” the brunette beauty told Clevver.com in an exclusive interview. “I immediately wanted to be a part of it because it seemed so fun; I’m such a fan of that genre. So we shot it in the summer, in 25 days or something crazy like that, it was really quick. If you’re a fan of horror and thrillers, then you’re definitely going to love it.”
However, the film isn’t without its minor setbacks. “My friends are like, ‘I cannot look at you the same way.’ I have this, like, contorted face in the trailer,” she explained. “It’s a little freaky.”
Fortunately, Lucy, herself, hasn’t had too many awful experiences when it comes to games IRL. “I’ve definitely had some Spin the Bottle experiences where I was like, ‘I do not want to kiss you,'” she laughed. “What’s so great about the film is that Truth or Dare is a game that we all know, we’ve all played, we’re all familiar with, it’s, like, nostalgic in a way… except we take the game and completely ruin it for you for probably ever ’cause it’s obviously, like, a possessed game of Truth or Dare.”
So, what would Lucy pick: Truth or Dare? “Absolutely [would pick Truth],” she said, “because when you pick Dare, people expect you to be able- to be willing to do something crazy. I feel like I’m truthful anyway, so it’s not a big deal for me to do that… even though I played a Little Liar.”
