Louis Tomlinson Teases Fans with Details About His Debut Solo Album

Louis Tomlinson has been working nonstop on his debut solo album for the past two years, and it’s looking like the wait might finally be coming to a close.

Out of all the One Direction guys, the 26-year-old and Liam Payne are the last two members to debut a solo album. And at this point, it certainly does feel like a race to the finish line for the two of them. There’s no doubt that there’s a lot of pressure mounting for L and L, especially Niall Horan and Harry Styles (and Zayn Malik, if you count him) have all gotten glowing reviews for their full-length solo releases.

Back in January, Louis posted a tweet to admit that his perfectionism was getting in the way of his progress on the album. He explained, “I’m a perfectionist so things are taking a little longer. Few more songs to add! Believe me I’m as impatient as you all are! Big love.”

It’s been three months since that message was posted, but his recent tweets seem to indicate that the album release date is drawing near.

Although it’s been a long time coming, it certainly sounds like LT’s CD will be worth the wait. He said of the process, “In the early sessions I’ve had, a lot of songwriters love to write about fairytales and situations that just don’t really feel like the bands that I grew up listening to. They speak very matter-of-fact and honest, and I think that’s cool and that’s interesting. Although the fans know loads about me, they’ll definitely learn a bit more after the album”.

Well, at least we’ve got Louis’ collab songs, like “Back to You” with Bebe Rhexa and “Just Hold On” with Steve Aoki, to hold us over until he finally DOES drop that debut album!
