One Direction Fans Have Been Waiting for This Since Louis Tomlinson’s Arrest
Let’s see those *praise hands* emojis, people — we’ve got some awesome Louis Tomlinson news coming your way, in 3… 2… 1…
Though the 25-year-old One Direction singer has barely made a peep regarding potential new music — solo or otherwise — since the release of his EDM hit, “Just Hold On,” with Steve Aoki back in December 2016, all fans of the British lad can rest a little easier tonight because… he’s escaping criminal charges!
As we’re sure you’re aware, the 1D guy was arrested in early March after getting into a fight at LAX with a member of the paparazzi, as well as for an altercation with a woman who was in a scuffle of her own with Louis’ girlfriend, Eleanor Calder. The photographer and the woman made a citizen’s arrest, so Louis was taken into custody for simple battery.
However, multiple witnesses claim that it wasn’t LT’s intention to strike either “victim.” The footage clearly shows that the paparazzo fell by accident, along with Louis, and the woman was engaging in a fight with Eleanor — how could Louis not intervene?? Sooo, reports are now saying that he will NOT be charged with criminal battery. Instead, according to TMZ, “he will go to the LA City Attorney’s Office for an informal hearing, where both sides are invited to present their version of events and a hearing officer will advise the parties how they should conduct themselves in the future … but no criminal charges will be filed.” Said hearing will reportedly be held at the end of this month.
Remember these shocking arrests of 2016?
Yes, this happened.
On October 10, the 25-year-old Divergent actress was peacefully protesting the Dakota Access Pipeline in Sioux County, North Dakota when police arrived and arrested her... and it was all captured on Facebook Live!
"I was trespassing like everyone," Shai told officers at the scene. "As soon as you guys asked me to leave, I l left. She was down there, everybody was down there; I'm being arrested. I was down there with everybody else. I don't know what's going on. As soon as they came I left… it's because I'm well known. It's because I have 40,000 people watching."
The Secret Life alum was charged with one count of misdemeanor criminal trespassing and one count of misdemeanor engaging in a riot.
26 other people were also arrested at the protest that day.
