Lorde Slams People Who Think They Know How to Cure Her Chronic Acne
It’s easy to look at celebrities, especially those who are female, and think they’re perfect. And with the help of professional makeup artists, stylists, etc., it’s understandable why people feel that way. But it’s important to remember that stars are only human and go through the same struggles we all face, including acne.
Kendall Jenner is one gorgeous female celeb who has dealt with pimples for several years now, but she refuses to let it stop her from doing the things she wants to do. Ella Marija Lani Yelich-O’Connor, a.k.a. Lorde, also knowns what it’s like to be a chronic-acne sufferer and have countless people try to weigh in and offer their unwarranted tips to get rid of it.
“For real though, acne sucks,” she said in an Instagram story while undergoing a light treatment designed to help clear skin. “You know what also sucks? When you’ve had acne for years and years and years, done all the drugs, tried all the things, and people are still like, ‘You know what worked for me, is moisturizing!'”
The 21-year-old then rattled off a few other bits of advice she’s gotten from those around her, including “make a mask out of honey, Greek yogurt and avocado,” “buy an apricot scrub,” slapping some coconut oil on her zits and, of course, being sure she washes her face.
“For everyone out there who’s got bad skin — and actual bad skin, not just the kind of bad skin you can just use a fancy cream for for a few days and it will get better — I feel your pain,” she concluded. “We’ll get there; we will. I promise.”
The “Green Light” singer has been very open about her battle with acne for years, even showing fans an edited vs. an unedited picture of her skin.
i find this curious – two photos from today, one edited so my skin is perfect and one real. remember flaws are ok 🙂 pic.twitter.com/PuRhxt2u2O

Flaws are what make us human, y’all!
