Taylor Swift’s Revenge on Calvin Harris is WAY More Savage Than His Past Jabs

Although Calvin Harris and Taylor Swift said there was still a “huge amount of love and respect” between the two following their split, things quickly turned sour when the 32-year-old went IN on his ex on social media a few weeks later.

“I figure if you’re happy in your new relationship you should focus on that instead of trying to tear your ex bf down for something to do,” he wrote after her team revealed that Tay penned his song ‘This is What You Came For.’ “I know you’re off tour and you need someone new to try and bury like Katy ETC but I’m not that guy, sorry. I won’t allow it. Please focus on the positive aspects of YOUR life because you’ve earned a great one.”

The 26-year-old never replied back to her ex’s unnecessary dig, so we figured she decided to just let it go. While Tay definitely still reigns victorious in the Talvin battle, she actually didn’t let the drama go and got back at the DJ in the best way she knows how — by writing a song about him.

Little Big Town just released the music video for their new song “Better Man,” which they revealed was penned by Taylor. The band first kept the info on the DL because they “wanted you to hear the song for what it’s worth” without any preconceived notions, but ultimately decided to divulge that it was the “New Romantics” crooner who gave them the “really special” tune that she wrote all alone. The song starts like this:

I know I’m probably better off on my own / Than lovin’ a man who didn’t know what he had when he had it / And I see the permanent damage you did to me / Never again, I just wish I could forget when it was magic / I wish it wasn’t 4am, standing in the mirror / Saying to myself, you know you had to do it / I know the bravest thing I ever did was run

The blonde then talks about how she sometimes misses her former love, but knows she’s “better off all alone than needing a man who could change his mind at any given minute.”

Given the timing of the song’s release, fans are pretty darn positive that it’s about Cal.

We know this isn’t as good as if Tay released the song on her own, but come on — maybe fall is shaping up to be a winner, after all?

Before Tom or Calvin entered the picture, Taylor wracked up quite a dating timeline:
