Lucy Hale Posts Emotional Note About the Fate of Life Sentence
Lucy Hale just confirmed our biggest fear: her new show, Life Sentence, has officially been canceled.
We still remember when we first found out that the Pretty Little Liars alum would be returning to our TV screens for the CW drama and we can’t believe it’s already over! The show told the story of Stella, a woman who found out she had been cured of her terminal cancer.
We started getting nervous about the future of the show when it wasn’t initially renewed by The CW, along with network hits Riverdale and Supergirl. After weeks of waiting to hear about the fate of the show, Lucy finally gave us the truth.
In an emotional note posted on Twitter, the 28-year-old beauty revealed that the show would not be getting a second season. She went on to say that she was “emotionally attached to this story” and that she feels “a little shell shocked.”

We are super bummed to hear this news, especially since this was such a different role for Lucy to play after portraying Aria Montgomery on Pretty Little Liars for so long. Although this may be the end of Life Sentence, we love that the star is trying to find the positives and reiterated how proud she is of what they were able to accomplish in one season.
Here’s hoping that all our other fave shows find the same luck as The 100 and also get renewed!
