1D Fans Turn Their Backs on Liam Payne After He Disses Harry Styles’ Solo Music
They say actions speak louder than words, and while Liam Payne SAYS he has plans to reunite with One Direction in the near future, he’s been doing some things recently to make us think otherwise. The new dad is set to release his first solo single, “Strip That Down,” tomorrow, and he’s been out doing a ton to promote it before it comes out. First, the 23-year-old singer debuted a series of Snapchat filters with different lyrics from the tune all around the world, with one that read, “You know I used to be in 1D, (now I’m out free).” Then, during an interview with a Music Choice, he was asked about his bandmates’ own solo records. While things started okay, they quickly turned sour.
“I heard the rest of the boys’ debut songs,” he said. “I heard, um, obviously Niall [Horan] had ‘Slow Hands out and he had ‘This Town,’ which is great. Niall’s gone down the singer-songwriter route, which is pretty cool.”
Super nice, right? But then he decided to chime in on Harry Styles‘s “Sign of the Times,” which is where the problems began.
Liam continued, “Harry’s song I heard and, I’ll be honest with you, it’s not my sort of music, so it’s not something I’d listen to. But I think he did a great job of doing what he wanted to do. That’s the way I’d put it best, I think.”
Dun dun dun!! A lot of Directioners were proud of the Brit for being respectful, but still telling the truth, but others were absolutely PISSED that he would dare say such a thing about Hazza’s tunes. Some were so upset that they said they don’t plan on supporting Liam’s upcoming solo project at all!
Was super excited for @LiamPayne's song to come out.. until I heard his comments about Harry's music. What was the point of that?

@LiamPayne Harry would have never dissed your generic, half-assed music. Don't forget who carried you to where you are now.

We think it’s important to point out that LP also said that HS probably wouldn’t like his solo tunes either, because, “He doesn’t really listen to hip hop music. It’s like, my song’s more ‘Rack City’ and his song is more of a different era to something I’d listen to, I guess.”
Hey, everyone can have different opinions!!
The One Direction boys are no stranger to being dissed. Here are all the stars who threw shade in the past:
