Don’t Get Too Excited About Miam — Miley Cyrus’ Ring Doesn’t Mean What You Think
Ever since Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth were spotted spending some quality time together in Australia during the 2015-2016 holiday season, the Miam shippers have been on watch non-stop. ANOTHER MIAM SIGHTING, some would exclaim. And after the 23-year-old “Wrecking Ball” singer Instagrammed pictures with her old ring, you can bet your a** that the Internet was ablaze with rumors about a renewed engagement.
HOWEVER, while it would make plenty of sense to assume that wedding bells are in the rekindled couple’s future — because why would anyone wear an engagement ring unless they’re engaged? — the 26-year-old Aussie star of The Hunger Games denies that nuptials are around the corner. The heartthrob tells TV Week, “I am not engaged, no.” Flat out.
Does this mean there’s zero hope for the Last Song co-stars? Certainly not. After all, they were caught with each other at the premiere of Chris Hemsworth‘s movie, The Huntsman: Winter War, this past week, so there’s definitely something between them. Maybe they’re simply taking it slow this time around. As for the emergence of Miley’s old ring, well… it’s her piece of jewelry, so she can do what she wants with it.
Miam’s not the only celebrity couple to give love a try again after calling it quits. Here are seven pairs that got back together after calling off their engagement:
Emma Roberts & Evan Peters
You can thank the movie Adult World for introducing Emma to Evan, resulting in a 3-year relationship that began in 2012, a domestic abuse incident (in which he got a bloody nose and she was taken into custody), an engagement over the 2014 holidays and a split in June 2015. Phew, that was a lot.
But the unhealthy relationship cycle, apparently, isn't over for the two, as they were spotted holding hands in September 2015, with E! News saying that they're "seeing each other again," thus confirming that they're back on.
