11 Important LGBTQ-Themed Movies Coming Out This Year
2017 was full of amazing movies all year long, and we especially loved that more and more films included LGBTQ themes. Call Me By Your Name, which is nominated for several Oscars this year, was about an Italian-American boy who was visiting Italy when he fell in love with an older student named Oliver, who was interning for his father. Overall, the film can be described as a beautiful story of love and self-discovery, as Timothée Chalamet‘s character learns so much more about who he is because of Oliver.
Other LGBTQ-themed films from last year that come to mind are The Shape of Water, A Fantastic Woman and Gods Own Country, and while each movie was extremely different from the next, they ultimately showcased love, inclusivity and acceptance of the LGBTQ community, as well as some of the hardships that members of the community sometimes face. That being said, there are a ton of life-changing LGBTQ films in the works for 2018 and we seriously can’t wait to see them all! Once you’re all caught up with the incredible LGBTQ-themed flicks that came out last year, keep your eyes out for these 2018 releases:
