Lea Michele‘s debut solo album, Louder, has been available for streaming for the past couple of days now, but we still can’t get over this one track; one beautifully-written and beautifully-sung track that has turned us into blubbering and emotional cripples. It’s called “If You Say So,” and it’ll take your breath away.

Written one week after the death of Cory Monteith, the 27-year-old didn’t hold back the pain of losing her on- and off-screen love. In the Glee star’s recent interview with V magazine, she said of the song, “My album was completed in June. We had 12 songs. And then my boyfriend passed away in July. So I met with [Sia Furler], because she’s a friend and because we were thinking, ‘Do we want to add anything to the record now?’ And we wrote ‘If You Say So’ on the same day she played me ‘Cannonball.’

She continued, “It’s the only song that no one’s heard [prior to its release on the Internet days ago]. I can’t talk about it until people hear it. I just feel like people should hear it and I don’t know if I’m ever going to talk about it. It’s just one of those things where I understand what it means and you can take it or leave it. That song is for me.” Here are some of the devastating lyrics:

It’s been seven whole days, seven whole days
Since you paralyzed me
Seven whole days, seven whole days
Since you lost your fight
And I can’t get the last words that you said
Can’t get those words out of my head
Seven whole days, seven whole days and four words
And I can’t get away from the burning pain a light you wake
And the fallen hero haunts my thoughts
How could you leave me this way

It’s been seven whole days without your embrace
I wanna see your face
I got some things to say
Was just a week ago
You said “I love you, girl”
I said “I love you more”
And a breath, a pause, you said, “If you say so”
“If you say so”
“If you say so”

If you think you’re ready — which, let’s face it, you’ll never be 100% ready for what you’re about to experience — here’s Lea Michele’s “If You Say So” song for Cory Monteith:
