The 7 Most Ridiculous Things Taylor Swift Has Actually Been Sued For
As hard as it is to believe, some people actually have really bad things to say about our reigning Queen of Pop, Taylor Swift. And after not one, but TWO major lawsuits against the 25-year-old singer have recently made headlines, it seems that the blonde has certainly made quite a few enemies throughout her time in the spotlight.
In the past few weeks, the “Wildest Dreams” singer has been sued for allegedly stealing the lyrics to “Shake It Off” from R&B singer Jesse Braham and incorrectly accusing a radio host of touching her inappropriately. While these seem to be serious allegations, the details make each slightly less scary than they normally would. Let’s just say, we don’t think Tay has anything to worry about. But this isn’t the firs time the singer has had to deal with a BS lawsuits. In fact, the 25-year-old star is basically used to being sued for seriously RIDICULOUS reasons.
For stealing 1989 inspiration from a prison inmate
In yet another bizarre lawsuit surrounding around the pop princess, a prison inmate facing time due to child pornography charges sued Taylor for $100 million for using his life story as lyrics on 1989. 35-year-old Jose Hilario claimed that he and Taylor had a relationship when the singer was just 18 years old, and, at one point in time, even promised to "write and sing songs about him." After 1989 dropped last year, Hilaro gave it a listen — because that's apparently what inmates do — and realized that he inspired the entire musical project. No hard feelings though, Hilario says he'll drop the lawsuit if the singer would “help [him] and restore [their] true friendship.” We. Can't. Even.
